It turns out that the also had suffered bulk registration losses in the past and were making use of a great system from a company called TeleSign called two factor authentication. Their retailers, people like me, were able to be uniquely identified and tracked through the two factor process. After contacting the helpful sales staff at TeleSign I learned that not only was it effective but extremely affordable as well. I only pay for the actual number of transactions that are verified by TeleSign. The whole process was quickly integrated into my website using a SOAP Based API. My customers are now sent an individual PIN when they sign up and it forces them to log in with this PIN. I also have a unique way of keeping track of their information so I in the future I can send them additional marketing collateral. It’s now really clear to me that I was unprotected. Doctors will tell you that your eyes are your most important asset and I’m glad that TeleSign is keeping their watchful eyes on my growing business!
