Turns out there was a gang of car thieves attempting to use this lot to stage their activities and they were logging on as the owner of the lot to call in each tow. I was really upset because now I was involved in some shady dealings. I needed to get something to strengthen the security of my website so a customer’s account would not be compromised again. I did some research on line and came across a company called TeleSign who had a great client reputation. When I called them and told them about my dilemma, they immediately knew the solution. The proposed a method of security known as two factor authentication where anyone who accessed my site would be required to put in a special code, called a PIN, to have authorized means to call in a tow. The PIN is sent to the customer’s home or cell phone and all they have to do is enter it in the site. Integration of their solution to my site was easy and painless. There were no set up costs and expensive maintenance fees and I didn’t have to purchase any additional equipment It’s easy for my customers to use and super secure for me. Now I use a Dobermans as guard dogs to watch my impound lot and use TeleSign as a virtual watchdog to secure my site! |
