When our pension plan needed a secure method of managing customer accounts we chose the phone confirm system from TeleSign to keep our depositor assets safe. We knew that cyber criminals targeted financial web sites so we wanted to have a secure means of keeping them out. To help our members manage their financial accounts on line we required stronger methods of authentication to verify the identities of each user. The current web site lacked any additional security above and beyond a standard user name and password.
One of the features we wanted to incorporate into the site was to give our users direct control of their funds and while adding this feature we realized that a 2 factor authentication system would offer the most secure access. We chose TeleSign to implement a phone confirm process which utilized something our membership already had at their disposal, a standard land or mobile based phone. At any time that a member wanted to make a transaction on their account they were sent a single use PIN or code to verify their identity.
